First things first, I have been wanting to write about this FOREVER. So about a month ago or so (maybe longer, who knows?) I went to Logan for the first time (I know, right? Logan, woohoo! NOT . . . jk) and did you know there is a cemetary on-campus? Seriously, it is SO cool. If you have a thing for cemetaries . . . which oddly enough I do. Whilst wandering through the cemetary, we came upon Kay's grave. You may be wondering, who is Kay? Only the creator of "Kay's Fudge", the best fudge in the world! (maybe . . . if we had made it right . . .)
In case anyone would like to try to recreate Kay's fudge, a fudge so great she had it inscribed on her headstone, here it is:
Kay's Fudge
2 squares chocolate
2 tablespoons butter
*melt on low heat
Stir in 1 cup milk
*bring to boil
Add 3 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
a pinch of salt
*cook to softball stage
Pour on a marble slab
Cool and beat and eat
Maybe ours would have worked out better if we had a marble slab? Or knew what the softball stage was?
Let's see . . . what else has happened since the historic day we discovered Kay's fudge??
My friend Erin got "married". Well, she was already married, but they had a reception since they weren't able to last year, and it was beautiful. I would post pictures but they were all on my mom's camera. It was at the Mission Inn in Riverside, Ca.
I also had the opportunity to see my good friend Julie this summer! Again! Usually we only see each other once a year, but this year it was twice! She came to Utah to go to Education Week at BYU with her mother-in-law, and I was able to go to classes a couple of the days.
Hmm . . maybe this post isn't as terribly long as I thought it would be . . . am I forgetting something . . .?
