So guess what happened yesterday?

After years and years (I first read Ender’s Game when I was 9) of being obsessed with Orson Scott Card, I finally met him!

This week was the Texas Library Association annual conference, and since it was just across the street from work, I got to go! I begged them to send me when I heard Orson Scott Card would be there. The above quote is what he said to me when he saw my battered first copy of Ender’s Game.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get any good pictures without my eyes closed. But, just know that my eyes were closed in excitement!!

I really need to catch up on my blogging!

So, the weekend after our trip to Israel, I got to go to Florida to visit my friend Julie and her new baby!

We had a lot of fun strawberry picking, swimming, and just hanging out! Julie’s mom, sister, and nieces were also able to visit so it was like one big party weekend!

 

Here’s a photo Penelope (Julie’s niece) took of us right before she told us we “look scary”. I guess we’re not too good at the ballet workout!

We loved strawberry picking! We picked so many strawberries we had to eat them for every meal! In fact, Julie’s family is probably still eating them!
